Dr Hesham Al-Khateeb is a fellowship-trained hip and knee surgeon specialising in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements and sports injuries.

He completed his training in London on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore rotation as well as the internationally renowned Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Western in Canada. 

Notably, Dr Hesham Al-Khateeb was the winner of the NHS innovation award in 2007. The award was for creating: The Guard for bone collection. The guard is arranged to receive the end of a bone that is due to be reshaped or undergo any other procedure that produces fragments of the bone.

 

Biography

Dr Al-Khateeb is also fully trained in all aspects of hip and knee trauma surgery as well as sports and exercise medicine, having completed high level fellowships in the USA, Germany and Canada. He also holds the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine.

He has a special interest in complex knee replacement surgery, hip replacements, management of young adult hip conditions as well as robotic and navigated knee and hip replacement surgery. He specialises in Sports Medicine injuries including Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction, Meniscal repair, Stem Cell Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy and cartilage reconstruction.
